Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum
This piece of track equipment is powered by pumping the handles back and forth, like a modern rowing machine. It was used by signal inspectors, switch inspectors and track inspectors to travel along the tracks to do their work.
It was donated by Carl Carlson. Its history is not well known.
This machine is not available for public use due to its fragile nature, but it is often on display at Trolleyfest.
We also have on loan a replica velocipede built in 2017 by Joshua Redenz.
